Tech Support Specialist

The End User Service Support Technician is responsible for providing quality support services to the various groups in a fast-paced Financial Services company. This is a hands-on role requiring the ability to handle various problems with expertise and exceptional judgment whilst working with end-users.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality support to end-users in a courteous and professional manner
  • Support desktop technology and applications including Market Data
  • Respond to calls and manage issues until resolution even if escalated to another team
  • Ability to write technical documentation and to keep knowledge-base up to date
  • Knowledge and troubleshooting skills in Microsoft Windows, basic networking protocols, Linux OS (advantageous), Microsoft Office Suite, Market Data applications, mobile devices, printers and other applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to work well independently and under pressure
  • Proactive, able to contribute ideas to improve current technology, future deployments and decisions
  • Identify and help to automate processes within Infrastructure

Qualifications/Skills Required

  • 4+ years of experience working in a similar role at an enterprise level
  • Experience in trade-floor support and trading applications
  • Must be familiar with PC hardware\software\network troubleshooting and deployment practices for desktops
  • Citrix infrastructure support
  • Able to effectively provide support to remote locations
  • Willingness to travel to other European sites occasionally as required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Windows 10 and Microsoft Office 2016/365
  • Broad understanding of mobile tech including BES12 and iOS devices
  • Cisco phone and video conferencing support
  • Understanding of ITIL best practices with regards to Incident Management
  • Webex\Zoom & Skype for Business support including video calls and screen sharing
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong customer service experience
  • Must be physically able to lift and carry computers and other related equipment
